I have a suspicion, Im no doctor but that clinching your teeth, putting pressures on parts of the jaw and neck, that causes Tinnitus on top of sudden extreme noises, or long term exposure to a constant noise like traffic, motoring, sirens, jackhammering, etc.

The cause of tinnitus is usually an underlying condition, such as hearing loss, high blood pressure or even stress.

The cause of tinnitus can be something as simple as an ear wax blockage in the ear, or something more complex, such as the growth of a bony mass on the cochlea.

I have tinnitus, and since I bought a tinnimasker I’ve got my life back. Just go to tinnimasker in your address box. Maybe it can help you too.

I’ve had tinnitus since I was 16 and I had an ear infection that affected the balance fluids in one ear. I’m now 30 and used to it, but for the first couple of years it was quite upsetting and resulted in many sleepless nights (I still use the TV to drop off to sleep to) and sometimes made me feel like I was going crazy.

I sympathise with anyone else who has it.

40-something. Got diagnosed with tinnitus this year discovering in increasing interviews in myself about 20months prior. Yes, tinnitus can be caused by many things. However, given my generally good health and my passion for video games such as the Modern Warfare series, having a headset on for many hours a week hearing gunfire was probably the equivalent to being in an actually war. Lesson – be careful with games like this and loud noises in general. I am coping but only have myself to blame
